After The ER Visit

After you leave the ER with bandages and stitches, or nothing at all, what should you do next? Well, you definitely should do as they instruct and follow up with your own physician.  But what if you are starting to experience some serious discomfort and pain? You will want to let your doctor know this when you make your appointment and when you get to your appointment for starters.

They will do an examination, possibly more x-rays or they will request the records and x-rays from the hospital and work from those.  Should your doctor find or suspect back or neck injury, they will refer you to a specialist for each of the areas of you may have injured.

Here they will perform an MRI test which can provide a clearer picture than x-rays do. The complete specialist team here will exam your MRI and may order additional testing to be done depending on the type of injury you have, the type of pain and where the pain is.

By receiving coordinated care between the specialists there, it will be easier and quicker to get the treatment you need and get you back to your normal lifestyle. The specialists are able to confer with one another on your progress and keep better communication on the type of medications you are prescribed.
